Xiaomi’s sub-brand, Redmi, introduced the budget-friendly A3 smartphone in February 2024. Now, almost a year later, the company is preparing to launch its next model, the Redmi A4.
Certification and Specifications
Earlier this month, the device was spotted on the FCC certification website, disclosing important information about its specifications. The smartphone will run on Android 15, support 5G connectivity, and come in four memory options: 3GB/64GB, 4GB/64GB, 4GB/128GB, and 6GB/128GB.
Chipset Information
Though the chipset details were previously unclear, a recent report from XiaomiTime might have revealed the information. Evidence from the supposed “Mi Code” indicates that the upcoming Redmi A4 (model number “C3Z”) will utilize the UniSoC T615 chipset.
The code suggests “C3Z = UMS9230E,” confirming the device’s use of the UniSoC T615. This is the same chipset featured in the Tecno Spark Go 1. The UniSoC T615 is made up of two ARM Cortex-A75 cores, six Cortex-A55 cores, and an ARM Mali-G57 MP1 graphics controller, all manufactured on a 12-nanometer process. While it may not offer high-end performance, it is appropriate for budget smartphones that prioritize essential features.
Anticipated Features
Information on additional specifications is limited, but rumors indicate that the Redmi A4 will have a 1600 x 720 IPS display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a basic primary camera, and a 5,000mAh battery supporting 18W charging. Reports also suggest that Xiaomi plans to rebrand the Redmi A5 as the POCO C71, implying both models will likely have similar specs.
The company has yet to officially acknowledge the existence of these phones, and details regarding pricing, launch dates, and complete specifications are still unknown.
We will keep you posted as more news about the Redmi A5 and POCO C71 emerges.
