Oppo is set to unveil the Reno 12 series worldwide on June 18, which is this Tuesday. The series will consist of the Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro, with speculation about a third device in the lineup.
According to a report by Spill Some Beans, the third device will be named the Oppo Reno 12 FS 5G. The report also revealed the complete design and specifications of the smartphone before its official release.
Oppo Reno 12 FS 5G Specifications
The Reno 12 FS 5G will sport a unique camera design distinct from the standard Reno 12 and Pro models. It will have a circular camera module called the “Cosmo Ring Design” on the back, featuring a Halo Light that can be customized to eight different colors for notifications and alerts.
At the front, the device will boast a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED (2.5D) display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and 600 nits brightness. The screen will support 100% DCI-P3 color coverage and come with AGC DT-Star2 protection.
Under the hood, the Reno 12 FS will run on a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 5G chipset, complemented by 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 512GB of UFS 2.2 storage.
Camera and Battery
For photography, it will feature a 50MP OmniVision OVD50D primary camera, an 8MP IMX355 ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro camera. A 32MP front camera will be available in a punch-hole cutout for selfies. The device will be fueled by a 5000mAh battery supporting 45W SuperVOOC charging.
Oppo is promoting AI features for the Reno 12 series, which will also be included in the 12 FS 5G. These AI features will consist of an AI Eraser for removing unwanted elements from photos, AI Smart Image Matting, and AI Studio for converting pictures into stickers and portraits into artwork. Additionally, AI LinkBookst and AI BeaconLink will enhance connectivity.
Additional Features
Other notable features include an under-display fingerprint scanner, an IP64 rating, and ColorOS 14 based on Android 14. The Oppo Reno 12 FS 5G is expected to be priced at EUR 399.99 for the single 12/512GB variant and will be available in Amber Orange and Black Green colors.
