OnePlus Open Receives Software Update, Not Android 14
The OnePlus Open recently received a software update that included the November security patch. However, the brand is now rolling out another update for its foldable phone, although it is not the latest Android 14 version. OnePlus is committed to continuously improving the software experience, and this new update aims to address various issues and bring further enhancements.
OnePlus Open Gets OxygenOS 13.2 Update
The OnePlus Open still runs on OxygenOS 13.2, which is based on the Android 13 operating system. The latest update has been spotted by the OnePlus Open: The Chatroom channel on Telegram. It carries the firmware version CPH2551_13.2.0.203(EX01) and weighs just 190.66MB in size. This is significantly lighter compared to the previous update, which weighed 508MB. In addition to the improvements, the update also includes the December 2023 security patch.
Enhancements and Fixes
This new update brings a range of software and performance improvements to enhance the overall usage experience of the OnePlus Open. It focuses on improving system stability, touch control algorithm, and reducing power consumption. The update also enhances network stability and compatibility. For photography enthusiasts, several camera issues have been addressed. The update reduces shutter lag when the Nightscape toggle is disabled and resolves unresponsive taps on retouch, filters, resolution, and flash functions. Furthermore, the update fixes the problem of the main screen freezing when using dual preview with the rear camera.
Rollout and Manual Check
The latest update is being rolled out in a phased manner and should be available for all devices automatically. However, users can also manually check for the update by heading to Settings > About device > OxygenOS > Check for update.
Overall, the OnePlus Open continues to receive software updates to enhance its performance and address various issues. Although it is not the latest Android 14 version, OnePlus remains dedicated to providing an improved software experience for its users.
