OnePlus Open 2: Oppo Teases Launch of Thinnest Foldable Phone

After a recent remark by an Oppo spokesperson about the upcoming Find N5, details are becoming clearer. Liu Zuhao, Oppo’s Senior Vice President, has shared a specific launch timeframe on the Chinese social media platform Weibo, stating it will be between February 1 and February 28, 2025. The Oppo Find N3’s successor will first hit the market in China, with the international release likely occurring a bit later, potentially during the Mobile World Congress in early March.

Impressive Specifications

A noteworthy element of the teaser (refer to the image below) is the claimed thickness of the flagship foldable device, which is expected to be under 9.2 mm when closed and 4.4 mm when opened. These measurements are currently held by the Honor Magic V3, recognized as the thinnest foldable phone to date. Oppo will need to surpass these specs if the claim about the Snapdragon 8 Elite-equipped OnePlus Open 2 being the slimmest foldable is indeed accurate.

Design Features

The image indicates that the Oppo foldable is slimmer than a pencil, featuring flat edges and smoothly rounded corners. Previous leaks suggest that this device will boast a Hasselblad camera system, including three 50 MP sensors and a periscope lens, along with wireless charging capabilities and a waterproof design. Additionally, renderings based on an early prototype have emerged, showing that the overall design will remain largely unchanged when compared to the OnePlus Open.
