Recent leaks indicate that Honor’s new folding device could be as slim as 8.9 mm or even less. In contrast, the Find N5 has a folded thickness of about 8.93 mm.
Performance Specs
Although there hasn’t been any official announcement regarding the thickness of the Honor Magic V4, Li Kun, who is the General Manager of Honor’s flagship smartphone division, suggested that this upcoming foldable will come with a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor featuring an 8-core CPU. On the other hand, the Find N5 uses a less powerful 7-core version.
With the full Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, the Magic V4 is expected to deliver slightly superior performance compared to the Find N5. Just to provide some background, tests from Digital Trends show that the Oppo foldable’s 7-core chip falls short in performance compared to the standard version as seen in Geekbench results.
Benchmark Numbers
In detail, the 7-core Snapdragon 8 Elite achieved scores of 2,885 in single-core and 7,978 in multi-core tests, according to the tests done by Digital Trends. In contrast, the standard SoC in the OnePlus 13 scored 3,107 in single-core and 9,213 in multi-core evaluations. The GPU performance also reflects this trend, highlighting a clear performance gap.
Specifically, the Oppo Find N5 managed to get 13,875 points in Digital Trend’s Geekbench GPU evaluation, while the OnePlus 13 reached 18,065 points. As Honor seems set on dethroning Oppo by making the Magic V4 thinner than the Find N5, it will be intriguing to see how effective the Magic V4’s cooling system is (Black Shark FunCooler 4 Pro curr. $29.99 on Amazon). Without a proper cooling mechanism, the unmodified Snapdragon 8 Elite risks throttling under heavy use.
