Oppo’s Find N5 is expected to be rebranded as the OnePlus Open 2 for the international market, with a launch possibly set for February 2025. If this occurs, the device could dominate the Snapdragon 8 Elite foldable smartphone segment for about six months, according to the well-known leaker, Smart Pikachu.
Thinner Design Ahead
The leaker aligns with another reputable source, Digital Chat Station, suggesting that the Open 2 will be slimmer than its predecessor. In fact, it might be the thinnest foldable smartphone available at its release, as claimed by Digital Chat Station.
Impressive Specs
The “Open 2” is rumored to feature a battery close to 6,000mAh, along with three Hasselblad-branded rear cameras, including a periscope zoom lens, and wireless charging. These enhancements could be substantial improvements over the previous generation, if the information is accurate.
Premium Materials
Moreover, Digital Chat Station hints that the Open 2 will incorporate “titanium” in its design, which has led to speculation that the new model might have edges similar to high-end non-foldable smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra or iPhone 16 Pro Max.
It’s worth mentioning that the current OnePlus Open, which is priced at $1,299.99 on Amazon, already has some titanium reinforcement, but it’s used in a less visible area of its unique ‘million-fold’ hinge.
Thus, while the brand might look to promote its next-generation foldable with a luxurious frame, it’s more likely that the titanium is intended to enhance the device’s durability, as suggested by recent leaks.
