The OnePlus 13 and OnePlus 13R are set to make their global debut on January 7. While the OnePlus 13 is already quite popular, having been released in China back in October, the specifics regarding the OnePlus 13R are still a bit hazy. There are rumors that it will be a rebranded version of the OnePlus Ace 5, which is exclusive to China. However, the company has recently shared some initial official information regarding the 13R.
Battery and Color Options
The latest teaser from Amazon India has confirmed that the OnePlus 13R will come equipped with a huge 6,000mAh battery, which is the same size as the flagship model’s battery. This is a 500mAh upgrade compared to the previous OnePlus 12R. The China-only OnePlus Ace 5 will have a slightly larger 6,400mAh battery. Additionally, the phone will be offered in two nature-inspired colors: Nebula Noir and Astral Trail.
Display and Performance
Moreover, the OnePlus 13R will showcase a flat display that is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i. The rear will also have the same protective glass, and the frame will be constructed from aluminum, measuring 8 mm in thickness. From earlier leaks, it’s known that the OnePlus 13R will run on last year’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. It’s anticipated that the device will feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with peak brightness of 4,500 nits and a resolution of 1264×2780 pixels. The refresh rate will be set at 120Hz, and the display can reach up to 1600 nits in direct sunlight.
Camera Setup and Charging
Rumors suggest that the phone will have a triple rear camera configuration, which includes a 50MP main sensor (f/1.8), an 8MP ultrawide lens (f/2.2), and a secondary 50MP sensor (f/2.0) likely for portrait or zoom capabilities. For selfies, it will include a 16MP front camera (f/2.4). The secondary 50MP sensor represents an enhancement over the previous model, promising better image quality, especially in various lighting scenarios.
The substantial 6,000mAh battery is expected to come with 80W fast charging, which is a minor downgrade from last year’s model that supported 100W fast charging. More information is likely to be revealed before the launch in early January, so keep an eye out for updates.
