HMD Global, the company responsible for Nokia-branded phones, has unveiled a new version of their classic feature phone, the Nokia 105 (2024). This model is essentially a rebranded version of the HMD 105 released earlier in June, now featuring wired earphones included in the package.
Nokia 105 (2024) Specifications:
The Nokia 105 (2024) maintains the simplicity and reliability that made feature phones popular. It has a compact design with a 2-inch 120×160 display, suitable for basic tasks like calling and texting. Internally, it comes with a modest 4MB of storage, expandable via a microSD card slot supporting up to 32GB.
Despite its basic specifications, the Nokia 105 (2024) offers impressive battery life. Its 1000mAh removable battery provides up to 18 days of standby time, making it ideal for users who value functionality over frequent charging. Charging is done through a microUSB port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack allows easy connection to the included earphones or other compatible headphones.
Additional Features
The phone is built with solid quality, featuring a rigid inner frame. Other features include an FM radio, MP3 player, LED flashlight, space for up to 2,000 contacts, and the classic Snake game. It is available in Charcoal, Purple, or Blue colors.
An interesting change from the HMD 105 is the slight reduction in water resistance. The Nokia 105 (2024) has an IP52 rating, providing some protection against dust and light splashes, which is a slight downgrade from the IP54 rating of the HMD 105. However, the addition of earphones in the packaging might be a worthwhile trade-off for some users.
While the Nokia 105 (2024) lacks internet connectivity and advanced smartphone features, it serves a specific niche. It’s designed for essential communication, boasting a long-lasting battery and a durable build.
