Moto G85: Mid-Range Phone with Curved pOLED Display

Motorola is introducing a new mid-range smartphone in India from its well-known G series. The Moto G85, which made its debut in Europe last week as a rebranded Moto S50 Neo, is now making its way to the Indian market. The official release date and key specifications for this device have been revealed.

Moto G85 India launch set for July 10

The company has shared teasers on its official website and Flipkart, confirming the upcoming device's launch date on July 10. The teaser posters also highlighted several key features, indicating that it is identical to the European version of the Moto G85. The front of the device features a 6.67-inch curved pOLED display that offers FHD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, a 360Hz touch sampling rate, and peak brightness up to 1600 nits.

Camera and Performance

Matching the expectations for smartphones in this price range, the rear of the Moto G85 includes a 50-megapixel primary camera (Sony LYT-600 sensor) and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. For selfies and video calls, there is a 2-megapixel shooter on the front. The phone is powered by the new Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 SoC, combined with either 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of internal storage. Motorola guarantees two years of Android updates and three years of security updates, with Android 14 OS out of the box.

Design and Battery

The Moto G85 features a vegan leather finish on the back and boasts an IP52 rating for water and dust resistance. It will be available in three color options: Cobalt Blue, Urban Grey, and Olive Green. The device is powered by a substantial 5,000mAh battery, supporting 30W wired fast charging. The Moto G85 will be available in India starting July 10, with offline purchases possible through retail stores, in addition to Flipkart and the Motorola India website.
