Lenovo Unveils Compact 13.3-Inch Laptop with Intel Wildcat Lake, Adds Slim 5i 13IWC11
Lenovo has introduced a compact new laptop powered by Intel Wildcat Lake processors. To recap, the company debuted the Lecoo Air 13, Air 14, and Air 15 earlier this month in China. Also, it added the IdeaPad Slim 3i to its PSREF website in 14-inch, 15-inch, 16-inch and 17-inch flavours. The announcement keeps the Lecoo Air family and Slim 3i line evolving with fresh options and specs that might catch the eye of budget-minded buyers who want portability with decent performance.
Design, Weight, and Dimensions
Lighter than the MacBook Neo (curr. $589 on Amazon) at 1.19 kg, the 13IWC11 is slightly thicker and deeper than Apple’s budget MacBook at 295 x 207 x 14.3 mm versus 297.5 x 206.4 x 12.7 mm. However, Lenovo’s new 13.3-inch laptop also contains a 54.7 Wh battery, which the company rates for up to 24.7 hours of 1080p local video playback at 150 nits. This balance between weight and battery life could appeal to buyers who want all-day usage without frequent recharges, though real-world figures may vary based on workload and brightness settings.
Display and Performance
Not only does the IdeaPad Slim 5i 13IWC11 feature a 50% higher battery capacity than the MacBook Neo, but it also features up to a 1600p (2.5K) IPS that combines a 120 Hz refresh rate with 100% sRGB colour space coverage and 400 nits peak brightness. Please note that the MacBook Neo achieved 519 nits peak brightness in our tests. The panel specification promises smooth visuals and vibrant colors for multimedia tasks and light creative work, though higher-end workloads might push the system differently depending on cooling and throttling behavior.
