Lenovo introduced the Legion Y700 2023 gaming tablet in China in July last year with an 8.8″ 144Hz display and 16GB RAM. This past March, the company launched a rebadged version for international markets, known as the Lenovo Legion Tab.

Recently, Lenovo released the ZUI 16.0.336 update for the Legion Y700 2023, which is based on Android 14 and includes support for the Xiaoxin Wireless Keyboard Air.

New Features and Improvements

The update brings several new features and system optimizations designed to enhance the user experience. Here are the key changes:

  • Enhanced visual experience with a new color design
  • Optimized Gaussian blur effect
  • New video call assistant: during a video call, users can quickly enable/disable the portrait effect and adjust sound settings
  • Support for Lenovo Xiaoxin Wireless Keyboard Air: fast keyboard pairing and multiple shortcut keys

System Optimization:

  • Improved user experience during game freezes and screen recording in certain game scenes
  • Optimized animation effects in the AI scanning function
  • Ability to use the handwriting function when the keyboard is connected

The company advises users to back up important files before installing the update to prevent data loss. Additionally, users should avoid switching the computer mode during the update process to prevent display issues.

For those unfamiliar with the device specs, the Legion Y700 2023 features an 8.8-inch display with a 2.5K resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, and 500 nits peak brightness. It’s powered by a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor and comes with 12GB of soldered RAM, which is not upgradeable. The device offers 256GB of onboard storage, expandable via a microSD card slot.

Camera and Cooling System

As a gaming-focused tablet, it includes a heat dissipation system. The rear camera setup consists of a 13MP main sensor and a 2MP macro lens, while the front camera is an 8MP selfie shooter.
