OnePlus is set to unveil the OnePlus Ace 3, a sub-flagship smartphone, later this month in China. Previous rumors suggested that the device would come equipped with a telephoto camera. However, a recent leak from tipster Digital Chat Station reveals that OnePlus has made changes to the camera setup of the device.
OnePlus Ace 3 camera setup and other specs (rumored)
According to the leak, the revised camera setup of the OnePlus Ace 3 will consist of a 50-megapixel main camera and an 8-megapixel camera, likely for capturing ultra-wide shots. The leak further reveals that the previously rumored 32-megapixel telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom has been replaced by a 2-megapixel macro camera. For selfies, the device will feature a 16-megapixel front camera.
Design and other specifications
The tipster also reiterated some details about the design and other specifications of the OnePlus Ace 3. In terms of appearance, the smartphone will boast a curved-edge OLED screen with a centrally positioned punch-hole, a metal middle frame, and a glass back. It will be available in three color options: gray, gold, and blue.
The Ace 3 is expected to sport a 6.78-inch BOE X1 8T LTPO display with a 1.5K resolution of 2780 x 1264 pixels. It is also rumored to support a 120Hz refresh rate and 2160Hz PWM dimming. Interestingly, this display panel seems to be the same one found on the Realme GT 5 Pro.
Under the hood, the Ace 3 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and will pack a 5,500mAh battery with support for 100W charging. Additionally, reports suggest that the smartphone could come with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage.
It is worth mentioning that the Ace 3 is expected to be rebranded as the OnePlus 12R when it hits the global market in January, as per previous reports.
Overall, the OnePlus Ace 3 seems to be shaping up as an impressive sub-flagship smartphone with notable camera improvements and powerful specifications. OnePlus fans will have to wait for the official announcement to get the full details and confirm the accuracy of these leaks.
