Tecno recently unveiled teasers for its upcoming foldable smartphones, the Phantom V Fold 2 and Phantom V Flip 2. Although the company has not officially disclosed the specifications or release dates for these devices, a report from SpillSomeBeans has provided a glimpse into what can be expected. According to the report, the phones will likely be available in Ghana starting September 8. Furthermore, the publication has shared detailed specifications for both models.
Phantom V Fold 2 Key Specifications
Leaked images reveal that the Phantom V Fold 2, with the model number AE10, will come equipped with a 6.45-inch cover screen and a 7.85-inch internal foldable display. Both displays are AMOLED panels supporting 120Hz LTPO technology. The device will feature a front-facing 32-megapixel camera, while the back will house a trio of 50-megapixel cameras: a main camera, an ultra-wide lens, and a portrait (telephoto) lens. AI features such as Circle to Search, two-way conversion, and call and text summary will be included. Additionally, it will support the Phantom V Pen stylus for various tasks, including note-taking and AI drawing.
Underneath, the Phantom V Fold 2 will be powered by the Dimensity 9000 Plus chipset, identical to its predecessor. It will offer 12 GB of RAM, an additional 12 GB of virtual RAM, and 512 GB of storage. The device will also include a 5,750mAh battery, the largest in any foldable phone to date. For comparison, the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro has a 5,700mAh battery.
The device will support 70W wired and 15W wireless charging. Other features encompass 5G dual SIM capabilities, multi-functional NFC, dual speakers with Dolby Atmos, and a layer fiber glass back. The phone will have a slim profile of 5.8mm when unfolded and will be available in Karst Green and Rippling Blue.
Phantom V Flip 2 Specifications
The Phantom V Flip 2, with the model number AE11, will sport a 6.9-inch 120Hz LTPO foldable screen. Its cover display will measure 3.64 inches, significantly larger than its predecessor's round external screen. This outer display will support mini-games, a full-sized keyboard, and Dynamic Port functionality, and it will be protected by Gorilla Glass Victus.
For photography, the V Flip 2 will include a 32-megapixel front camera, a 50-megapixel main camera, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera on the back. AI features like an AI eraser, AI picture cutout, and AI portraits are also reported. While the Dimensity 8050 chip is rumored to power the device, this has not been confirmed in the leaked images.
The V Flip 2 will house a 4,750mAh battery, slightly smaller than those in the Xiaomi Mix Flip and Honor Magic V Flip. It will support 70W rapid charging and will be available in Travertine Green and Moondust Grey.
Pricing Details (Rumored)
According to earlier reports, the Phantom V Fold 2, with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage, will be priced at GHS 16,550 ($1,060). Meanwhile, the Phantom V Flip 2, featuring 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, will cost GHS 9,800 ($625).
