Honor Magic 6: A Comprehensive Upgrade

On Dec. 21, Honor is set to unveil the Honor 90 GT and the Honor Pad 9 tablet in China. Following this launch, the company is expected to shift its focus to the Magic 6 series of flagship phones, with a possible debut in the second week of January 2024. Although a leaked report on Weibo has surfaced with the alleged specifications of the standard Magic 6 model, readers are advised to take the information with a grain of salt, as some details may not be accurate.

Upgraded Specifications

According to the leaked report, the Honor Magic 6 will be a comprehensive upgrade compared to its predecessor, the Honor Magic 5 Pro. The device is rumored to feature improvements in areas such as display, performance, battery life, and photography.

Display and Design

The Honor Magic 6 is speculated to come with a quad-curved OLED panel that offers a 3840Hz PWM dimming. Additionally, it is expected to incorporate the Oasis eye-protection feature, which is said to be superior to the eye-protection technology found on the Magic 5 Pro. To enhance drop resistance, the Magic 6's display will reportedly be protected by Honor's Jurhino display protection glass.

Powerful Performance

Under the hood, the Magic 6 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. It is also rumored to pack a 5,800mAh Qinghai Lake battery with support for 66W fast charging. Furthermore, recent reports suggest that the device will also support wireless charging. The Magic 6 is said to include a dedicated security chip, a radio frequency enhancement chip C1, and support satellite communication.

Impressive Camera Setup

In terms of photography, the Honor Magic 6 is expected to feature a rear camera setup comprising a 50-megapixel main camera with support for variable aperture and optical image stabilization (OIS), a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera. The device is rumored to run on Magic 8.0-based Android 14 and have an IP68-rated dustproof and water-resistant chassis.

Porsche Design Variant

A render of the Honor Magic 6 Porsche Design variant has also been leaked, suggesting that the regular Magic 6 will likely feature a less extravagant design compared to the Porsche model.

Although these leaked specifications provide an exciting glimpse into what the Honor Magic 6 may offer, it is important to remember that they are still rumors. Honor fans will have to wait for the official launch to confirm the device's actual specifications and features.
