OnePlus is set to launch the OnePlus Ace 3, a sub-flagship phone powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, in China tomorrow. In anticipation of the release, the company has been gradually revealing key specifications for the device. Today, it unveiled some posters confirming the battery capacity.
OnePlus Ace 3 battery size confirmed
The Ace 3 will boast a 5,500mAh battery, making it the world's first Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 phone with such a large battery capacity. Designed for long-term usage, the battery has a four-year lifespan. The inclusion of the SuperVOOC S power management chip ensures efficient energy utilization, achieving an impressive discharge efficiency of 99.5 percent.
Impressive battery performance
The Ace 3's battery delivers impressive performance metrics. Users can enjoy up to 17.4 hours of video playback, 15.7 hours of Douyin short videos, and 8.7 hours of gameplay on "Honor of Kings" before needing to recharge. Additionally, OnePlus has confirmed that the Ace 3 will support 100W fast charging. However, wireless charging will not be supported.
Other specifications
Aside from the battery, the OnePlus Ace 3 will feature a 6.78-inch OLED panel supplied by BOE. The display offers a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring a smooth and vibrant visual experience. The phone will be equipped with a 16-megapixel front camera and a triple camera unit on the rear, consisting of a 50-megapixel main camera with Sony IMX890 sensor and optical image stabilization (OIS), an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 2-megapixel macro camera.
The OnePlus Ace 3 is expected to be available in three variants: 12GB+256GB, 16GB+256GB, and 16GB+1TB. The starting price is rumored to be 3,299 Yuan (~$465). It will be offered in three color options: Star Black, Moon Sea, and Sand Gold.
OnePlus Ace 3 becomes OnePlus 12R
For markets like India, Europe, and North America, the OnePlus Ace 3 will be rebranded as the OnePlus 12R. The OnePlus 12R is expected to debut alongside the OnePlus 12 on January 23, during a global launch event.
