In September 2023, Huawei introduced its Mate X5 foldable smartphone to the Chinese market. This device is equipped with an in-house Kirin 9000s chip and features an advanced camera system. Recent information has emerged regarding the anticipated release of the Mate X5's successor.

According to tipster Smart Pikachu on Weibo, Huawei plans to refresh its X series of foldable phones in the latter half of 2024. While specific details or the name of the new device have not been disclosed, it is expected that the new model will be called the Mate X6.

Anticipated Improvements

The forthcoming foldable smartphone is likely to come with an enhanced camera system, a more advanced hinge mechanism, and potentially a new processor. Huawei might choose between the Kirin 9010 or the upcoming "super core" chip, which is rumored to be used in the Mate 70 series.
