A few days ago, the leaker known as Digital Chat Station reported that Honor is about to release its first smartphone equipped with a 10,000 mAh battery. Recently, proof of this device has appeared in the public records of the China Quality Certification Centre (CQC). As shown in the image below, Sunwoda has created a battery for Honor that has a rated capacity of 9,886 mAh.

This battery also contains 37.37 Wh of energy, and it is expected that Honor will promote it as having a typical capacity of around 10,000 mAh, surpassing the 8,000 mAh battery introduced with the Honor Power back in April. At the moment, WhyLab predicts that Honor might incorporate this new battery tech into either the Power 2 or the X80. The leaker also mentioned on Weibo that both of these smartphones could be released before the year’s end, which is sooner than what Digital Chat Station initially thought.

Meanwhile, according to earlier remarks from the same leaker, the Power 2 is set to feature a MediaTek Dimensity 8500 chipset paired with a 1.5K display along with this battery. In the end, a smartphone with a 10,000 mAh battery isn’t particularly innovative. For instance, Doogee managed to fit a 22,000 mAh battery into last year’s V Max Pro (currently priced at $469 on Amazon). However, the Power 2 is rumored to have just under half that battery capacity while maintaining a body thickness of about 8~9 mm, not counting the expected camera bump.
