Honor MagicPad 2 Launches Globally with 3K OLED 144Hz Display

Honor made headlines at IFA today by introducing its latest foldable smartphone, the Magic V3. Additionally, the company revealed the MagicPad 2, a high-end tablet designed to compete with devices like the OnePlus Pad 2 and Galaxy Tab S9. Let’s delve into the features of this new tablet.

Honor MagicPad 2 Specifications

In line with the company’s recently released foldable phone, the MagicPad 2 emphasizes a stylish and portable form. With a thickness of just 5.8mm and a weight of 555g, the tablet is remarkably easy to handle and transport.

The MagicPad 2 boasts a 12.3-inch OLED display as its main attraction. The screen offers a 3K resolution, a refresh rate of 144Hz, and can reach a peak brightness of 1600 nits. To address concerns about eye strain, Honor has integrated features such as AI Defocus Display and high-frequency 4320Hz PWM dimming to reduce fatigue from prolonged use.

However, the MagicPad 2 is not solely about visual appeal. It is IMAX Enhanced and DTS audio certified, promising a captivating audio experience. Honor has also incorporated its Spatial Audio Technology, which reportedly expands the sound field by 25% compared to the previous MagicPad version.

Advanced Performance and Software

Inside, the MagicPad 2 is powered by the newest Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, enabling seamless multitasking and consistent gaming performance. It is supported by a substantial 10,050mAh battery, which can be charged using a 66W adapter.

The software is driven by Honor’s latest MagicOS 8.0, based on Android 14. This operating system is packed with AI-driven features, including “Magic Portal,” which allows users to access applications and services across different devices with a single gesture. Other AI functionalities include voice-to-text conversion, handwriting beautification, and formula recognition.

Camera and Additional Features

In terms of photography, the tablet features a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 9-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies. Additional noteworthy features include Bluetooth 5.3, three microphones, spatial sound through an eight-speaker crossover setup, and support for the Honor Magic Pencil 3, which is sold separately.

Price and Availability

The Honor MagicPad 2 is available in White and Black colors worldwide. In Europe, the tablet is priced at EUR 599 for the 12GB + 512GB memory variant.
