Honor Magic V3 Specifications
Honor has outdone itself by making the Magic V3 lighter than its previous model. When folded, it measures 9.2mm (excluding the camera bump) and 4.35mm when opened. The phone weighs just 226 grams. The reduction in size is impressive, making it comparable to many traditional smartphones. The brand claims that the device features the thinnest hinge to date, measuring at 2.84mm, and it is rated to last for 500,000 fold cycles.
The Magic V3 has an octagonal-shaped camera bump on the back, and the power button also functions as an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. The device sports a 7-series aluminum alloy frame and is IPX8 certified, making it water-resistant up to 2.5 meters.
Display and Camera
The main screen of the Honor Magic V3 is 6.43 inches with curved edges and an FHD+ resolution. Internally, it features a 7.92-inch display with a resolution of 2,344 x 2,156 pixels. Both screens offer a 120Hz LTPO refresh rate, Dolby Vision, HDR Vivid, and stylus support. Honor claims the device can reach a peak brightness of 5,000 nits, although it's unclear if this applies to both screens.
In terms of photography, the Magic V3 is equipped with a triple rear camera setup. This includes a 50MP main sensor with OIS, a 40MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 50MP periscope telephoto unit that supports 100x digital zoom and OIS. For selfies and video calls, the device features a 20MP sensor on both the internal and external screens. The Harcourt portrait mode is expected to be released in August.
Performance and Battery
The Honor Magic V3 is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and offers up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. Despite its slim profile, it includes a titanium heat dissipation system. The foldable phone is equipped with a 5,150mAh battery that supports 66W wired and 50W wireless charging. It runs on MagicOS 8, featuring various AI capabilities, a smart private call function, parallel space, and more.
Additionally, the device supports two-way satellite communication for sending texts when there’s no cellular network. It also includes an RF enhancement chip to boost the network and a security chipset for added protection.
