Honor has introduced the Honor Magic V Flip, marking its debut in the category of flip-style foldable phones in China. Zhao Ming, CEO of Honor, recently discussed this new launch and provided insights on the previously released Honor Magic V2. He further hinted at the forthcoming Honor Magic V3.
Honor Magic V3 to Feature a Groundbreaking Design
During a meeting following the Magic V Flip’s unveiling, Ming disclosed that the Honor Magic V3 is undergoing rigorous development. He assured that it would be a state-of-the-art foldable phone. Ming highlighted Honor’s dedication to innovation, noting that even 11 months and 20 days after the 9.9mm thickness test, the Magic V2 remains the slimmest foldable phone available. He emphasized that breaking their own records is a fundamental value of the company.
The Honor Magic V2, announced in July 2023, is recognized as the world’s thinnest foldable phone. It measures a mere 4.7mm thick when unfolded and 9.9mm when folded, making it thinner than many conventional straight-screen phones. This represents a significant advancement in foldable phone design.
Anticipated Specifications of Honor Magic V3
Details about the Honor Magic V3's specifications remain scarce. However, it is speculated to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Leaks from a few weeks ago suggest that its battery capacity might exceed 5,000mAh and that it will include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Currently, the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro, which comes with a 5,700mAh battery, holds the record for the largest battery in a foldable phone. Despite its large battery, the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro maintains a slim profile, measuring 5.2mm when unfolded and 11.2mm when folded.
The Honor Magic V3 is expected to be launched in China around July.
