HMD Launches First 5G Rugged Phone in Europe with Price Leak

HMD Global, the manufacturer behind Nokia-branded devices, is set to introduce two products in the European market under its own label. These new offerings are the HMD XR21 rugged smartphone and the HMD T21 tablet.

New Releases Under HMD Brand

You may already be familiar with the XR21 and T21 models, previously released under the Nokia brand. However, recent information indicates that HMD Global is planning to rebrand them under its own name.

Specifications and Pricing Details

A leak from a Finnish source has disclosed that these devices have been listed by select Nordic retailers, providing insights into their color options, memory capacities, and approximate prices.

The HMD XR21, positioned as the company’s inaugural 5G release in Europe, is expected to be available in a sleek black color variant featuring 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, with an anticipated price of approximately €457.90.

Device Features and Availability

The XR21 is reported to boast identical hardware specifications as its Nokia-branded counterpart, including a 6.49-inch IPS LCD screen, a Snapdragon 695 chipset, 64MP dual cameras, and a 4800mAh battery. Additionally, it will carry IP69 and MIL-STD-810H certifications, characteristic of rugged smartphones.

The HMD T21 tablet is expected to launch in a single black variant, with the top-tier LTE model offering 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage priced at €302.90. A more budget-friendly LTE version with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage is projected to be priced at €256.90. Furthermore, a Wi-Fi-only model featuring 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage is set to retail for €228.90. The T21, likely a rebranded Nokia tablet, is expected to include features such as a 10.4-inch display, an 8,200mAh battery, and stylus support.

The official launch of both the HMD XR21 and T21 is imminent, with reports suggesting that they will be available for purchase by early June.
