Samsung is starting to distribute the January 2025 security patch for the Galaxy A55. This update contains fixes from both Google and Samsung. Google has addressed 5 critical and 24 high-level CVEs (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures) with this patch. It’s reported that two of these CVEs do not apply to Galaxy devices.
Samsung Galaxy A55 Security Enhancements
In addition, Samsung has included its own fixes in this patch, targeting 22 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE) issues. According to Sammy Fans, these fixes are meant to resolve problems with Samsung’s Sound Picker, Samsung Messages, Notification Manager, and Bootloader. Besides these important security improvements, the update also enhances system stability for a better user experience.
Update Availability
The update is being released in phases in certain Asian countries, and it is anticipated that it will soon reach devices in other areas. Therefore, it might take a little while before it arrives on your device. To check if the update has been applied, go to ‘Software Updates’ in the ‘Settings’ menu. If the update is available, click on ‘Download and Install’. The update carries the One UI build version A556EXXS6AYAS, and the file size is approximately 300MB.
