FCC Certifies Samsung Galaxy S24 Series Prior to Launch

The Samsung Galaxy S24 series is on the verge of being released, with the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra models recently appearing on a certification platform. This sighting provides some insight into the features of the upcoming smartphones.

Galaxy S24 lineup spotted on certification platforms

The Galaxy S24 Ultra was first spotted on the NBTC, followed by the Galaxy S24+ on the BIS. Most recently, the entire Galaxy S24 lineup was found on the FCC database. The three models, namely the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra, were identified by their respective model numbers: SM-S921U, SM-S926U, and SM-S928U.

Notable features revealed by the certification

The FCC listing unveiled some interesting details about the Galaxy S24 series. The Galaxy S24+ model, for instance, was tested with a charger (EP-TA800) capable of supporting 25W fast charging. Additionally, the certification confirmed the presence of UWB connectivity, NFC, and 5G networking in all three models. The dimensions of the Galaxy S24+ variant were also disclosed, measuring 158.5 x 75.9 x 7.75mm. Moreover, it has been confirmed that the Galaxy S24 lineup will come equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.

Expected specifications and release date

It is anticipated that the flagship series from Samsung will offer 8GB of RAM, with the higher-end models potentially reaching a maximum of 12GB. The official announcement of the Galaxy S24 lineup is scheduled for January 17, 2024.
