Asus ROG Phone 8 series and Zenfone 11 Ultra Receive Bluetooth SIG Certification
In October, Asus confirmed that the upcoming ROG Phone 8 series of gaming phones will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. In the subsequent weeks, one of the ROG Phone 8 variants has appeared in the databases of Geekbench and China’s 3C certification platform. The arrival of the ROG Phone 8 series seems imminent, as it has now received approval from the Bluetooth SIG authority.
ROG Phone 8 and Zenfone 11 Ultra Bluetooth SIG Certification
The Bluetooth SIG authority has certified the ROG Phone 8 series and the Asus Zenfone 11 Ultra. The ROG Phone 8, identified with model numbers such as ASUS_AI2401_D, ASUS_AI2401_A, ASUS_AI2401_C, and ASUS_AI2401_E, has been approved by the Bluetooth SIG authority. Similarly, the ROG Phone 8 Pro, bearing model numbers ASUS_AI2401_A, ASUS_AI2401_C, and ASUS_AI2401_F, has also received Bluetooth SIG certification.
Specifications of the ROG Phone 8 and Zenfone 11 Ultra
On Geekbench, the AI2401_A variant of the ROG Phone 8 was spotted with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, 16 GB of RAM, and Android 14. Additionally, it was also seen with a 65W fast charger in China’s 3C certification. The AI2401_D variant of the ROG Phone 8 appeared on Geekbench with 24 GB of RAM. It is speculated that this variant, possibly marketed as the ROG Phone 8 Ultimate, may offer the highest RAM capacity among the ROG Phone 8 series.
Zenfone 11 Ultra in the Works
Contrary to previous rumors, Asus has officially confirmed that it will continue to produce the Zenfone line. The Zenfone 11 Ultra, identified as ASUS_AI2401_H, is currently in the works. The discovery of the Ultra variant suggests that the lineup may include at least one more model bearing the Zenfone 11 moniker. Unfortunately, no information regarding the specifications of the Zenfone 11 series is available at this time.
Bluetooth 5.4 Connectivity and Expected Launch
The Bluetooth SIG certification reveals that all the aforementioned devices, including the ROG Phone 8 series and Zenfone 11 Ultra, will support Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity. It is anticipated that the ROG Phone 8 series will launch in Q1 2024 in various markets.
