OnePlus Pad Pro: New Tablet with 67W Charging Coming Soon

We know that the launch of OPPO’s Pad often coincides with a new tablet release from its sub-brand, OnePlus. The OnePlus Pad 2 is expected to hit the global market soon, while an identical device will launch in China as the OPPO Pad 3. But the spotlight is on the even more intriguing OnePlus Pad Pro.

A device with the model number “OPD2401” has recently been certified on China’s 3C website. The certification reveals that the upcoming tablet will include a charging adapter model “VCB70ACH,” which supports 67W fast charging. According to TheTechOutlook, this device is the OnePlus Pad Pro.

    A First for OnePlus

This development is quite exciting as it marks the introduction of OnePlus’s first-ever "Pro" tablet. Currently, OnePlus offers two different tablets globally: the OnePlus Pad and the OnePlus Pad Go. It’s worth noting that the OnePlus Pad also supports 67W charging. While the OnePlus Pad Pro doesn’t offer a significant upgrade in charging speed, a “Pro” tablet typically means enhanced features such as better speakers and a superior display. This makes it an excellent device for both productivity and media consumption.

    OnePlus Pad Pro Specifications

The marketing name of the tablet is still unconfirmed, but Chinese sources suggest it will be called the OnePlus Pad Pro. Another detail about the alleged OnePlus Pad Pro is its inclusion of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, ensuring that it will be a powerful tablet.

OnePlus Pad Pro Rumors Heat Up with Keyboard and Stylus on FCC

While the release of the standard OnePlus Pad 2 appears to be delayed, it seems the company is developing another premium tablet. This speculation is supported by information from reputable tipster Digital Chat Station, who disclosed on the Chinese social media platform Weibo that OnePlus might soon unveil a Pro variant known as the OnePlus Pad Pro.

    Supporting Evidence

Adding weight to these claims, a OnePlus-branded keyboard and stylus accessory have been spotted on the FCC certification database. According to Chinese publication ITHome, these accessories are designed for the anticipated Pad Pro.

The database listing specifies a keyboard with the model number OPK2402, produced by Tinlong Mobile. This keyboard features a conventional six-row key layout, a sizable touchpad, and an NFC chip located in the right-hand wrist rest area.

    Design Insights

The design on the back of the keyboard case also provides clues about the camera placement on the rumored OnePlus Pad Pro. It displays a circular camera cutout in the center of the back, similar to the original OnePlus Pad’s layout.

The FCC filing additionally describes a corresponding stylus marked with the model number OPN2402. The stylus is reported to utilize an FPC Bluetooth antenna, hinting at wireless connectivity features like pressure sensitivity.

    Awaiting Official Confirmation

While the FCC documents do not explicitly verify the existence of a OnePlus Pad Pro, the timing and design elements strongly imply that these accessories are meant for a new tablet from OnePlus. Whether this tablet is indeed the OnePlus Pad Pro remains unconfirmed.

It is crucial to remember that these are currently just rumors, and OnePlus has not yet made any official announcements about the OnePlus Pad Pro or its accessories. We will have to wait for additional leaks or an official statement from OnePlus to ascertain what the company plans for the tablet market.

  • Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Plus Confirmed to Use MediaTek Chipset

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Plus Confirmed to Use MediaTek Chipset

Samsung's forthcoming Galaxy S24 FE smartphone wasn't the only device from the tech giant to surface on Geekbench today. The upcoming Galaxy Tab S10 Plus has also made an appearance on the benchmarking site.

Identified by the model number SM-X828U, the tablet's IMEI database entry confirms it as the Tab S10 Plus. The "U" suffix signifies that it's a US variant, while other versions such as SM-X826B and SM-X826N correspond to the Global and South Korean markets, respectively.

    Switch to MediaTek Processor

Interestingly, the tablet was listed with the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ processor on Geekbench. Traditionally, Samsung has preferred Qualcomm's high-end chipsets for its Tab S series. However, for the Galaxy Tab S10 series, the company appears to be shifting to MediaTek.

The Dimensity 9300+ is an octa-core chipset featuring a powerful configuration: one Cortex-X4 core clocked at 3.25GHz, three Cortex-X4 cores running at 2.85GHz, and four Cortex-A720 cores at 2.0GHz. Graphics are likely managed by a Mali-G720 Immortalis MP12 GPU.

    Benchmark Scores and Specifications

This setup resulted in the tablet scoring 2,141 points in single-core tests and 6,952 points in multi-core tests on Geekbench. The device also boasts 12GB of RAM and will come with Android 14 pre-installed.

While the switch to MediaTek is notable, a report from last month suggested that Samsung might employ a dual-chip strategy for its tablets, similar to its Galaxy S series phones. However, the expectation was that the chips would be Qualcomm and Exynos, not MediaTek.

Given the tablet's appearance with the Dimensity 9300+, it could indicate that the earlier report was either incorrect or that MediaTek may be replacing one of the other chip brands.

At this point, details about the Galaxy Tab S10 Plus are limited. It is expected to be accompanied by the Tab S10 Ultra and likely a standard Galaxy Tab S10.

  • Xiaomi Set to Launch Redmi Pad SE 8.7 4G Soon

Xiaomi Set to Launch Redmi Pad SE 8.7 4G Soon

Xiaomi is gearing up to launch a new tablet called the Redmi Pad SE 8.7 4G. This device is essentially a revamped version of the Redmi Pad SE released last year but with significant updates. The most notable upgrade is the inclusion of 4G connectivity.

By inserting a SIM card, users can make calls and access the internet on this tablet. Another key difference is the size; while the previous Redmi Pad SE was 11 inches, this new version will be more compact at 8.7 inches. This change makes the new model smaller compared to its predecessor.

Redmi Pad SE 8.7 4G is on the Horizon

Xiaomi’s move to introduce a new Redmi Pad SE is intriguing. They might be aiming to make use of the components from the earlier Pad SE models. If priced affordably, the Redmi Pad SE 8.7 4G could attract a lot of interest.

This new model not only supports 4G connections but is also more portable due to its smaller size. The Gizmochina team has identified the Redmi Pad SE 8.7 4G in the IMEI database. The tablet is anticipated to be available in international markets.

    Model Numbers and Market Availability

The Redmi Pad SE 8.7 4G comes with two model numbers: “24076RP19G” and “24076RP19I“. Analyzing these numbers reveals the regions where the device will be sold: "G" stands for "Global" and "I" for "India". There is no information yet about a Chinese version, so it’s uncertain if the tablet will be available in China. The specs are expected to be similar to the previous Redmi Pad SE, although this isn’t confirmed. The tablet is likely to be launched in July, and we eagerly await Xiaomi’s new release.

  • Logitech Launches Combo Touch for iPad Air (M2) & iPad Pro (M4)

Logitech Launches Combo Touch for iPad Air (M2) & iPad Pro (M4)

Logitech has introduced a Chinese version of the Combo Touch keyboard case, specifically tailored for the latest iPad Air (M2) and iPad Pro (M4) models that debuted in May.

    Crafted from Sustainable Materials

The new Combo Touch emphasizes both portability and sustainability, being made from eco-friendly materials while also being Logitech’s slimmest and lightest keyboard case to date. It features a detachable keyboard for flexible use and a versatile kickstand that supports multiple viewing angles. Remarkably, the Combo Touch includes Logitech’s largest Multi-Touch trackpad ever.

    Keyboard Features

The keyboard boasts a standard layout with automatic backlighting, offering 16 brightness levels to ensure comfortable typing in various lighting conditions. It also includes shortcut keys for essential commands such as volume control, media playback, and screenshots, thereby improving workflow and user experience. The keyboard connects directly to the iPad, removing the need for separate charging or Bluetooth pairing.

For those looking for a more budget-friendly option, the Combo Touch is available in Graphite for the iPad Pro and Oxford Gray for the iPad Air. Here’s a breakdown of the pricing:

    • Combo Touch for iPad Air 11-inch: 1698 yuan
    • Combo Touch for iPad Air 13-inch: 1898 yuan
    • Combo Touch for iPad Pro 11-inch: 1898 yuan
    • Combo Touch for iPad Pro 13-inch: 2198 yuan

    Comparison with Apple’s Magic Keyboard

While the Combo Touch is lighter and slightly more affordable compared to Apple’s Magic Keyboard (which costs 2,399 yuan for the 11-inch and 2,799 yuan for the 13-inch), it’s important to consider the trade-off in features. The Magic Keyboard offers a superior user experience with a tactile feedback trackpad, a feature that the Combo Touch lacks.

Ultimately, the decision between the Logitech Combo Touch and Apple’s Magic Keyboard will depend on your priorities. If budget is a significant factor and you prefer a lightweight design, the Combo Touch is an attractive option. However, if a more premium experience with a tactile trackpad is crucial, then the Magic Keyboard might be the better choice.
