June 2024 AnTuTu Mid-Range Phone Ranking: OnePlus Ace 3V Leads

The OnePlus Ace 3V smartphone has emerged as the leader in mid-range smartphone performance, according to AnTuTu’s list for June 2024. Scoring an impressive 1,434,328 points, the OnePlus Ace 3V is followed by the Realme GT Neo6 SE, which scored 1,379,517 points. Both phones use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chipset, though the OnePlus Ace 3V surpasses the Realme GT Neo6 SE by about 55,000 points.

    Specifications and Features

This latest ranking of mid-range smartphones based on their AnTuTu scores underscores the remarkable capabilities of the OnePlus Ace 3V. The device is available with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, while the base model offers a 12GB/512GB configuration. Besides its powerful Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 processor, the OnePlus Ace 3V boasts Tidal Architecture technology, which has undergone flagship-level tuning and deep-rooted chip optimization. This technology has significantly contributed to the Ace 3V’s outstanding performance in its segment.

    Gaming Optimization

For gaming enthusiasts, the OnePlus Ace 3V includes features designed to enhance and streamline the gaming experience. The phone uses AI technology to predict the frame rate requirements during gameplay and intelligently allocate processor resources accordingly. This capability allows the processor to optimize its performance during gaming and other resource-intensive applications.

    Top Performing Mid-Range Phones

In addition to the OnePlus Ace 3V and Realme GT Neo6 SE, the top ten mid-range models listed on AnTuTu’s performance benchmark for June 2024 include the Redmi K70E, realme GT Neo5 SE, and Redmi Note 12 Turbo. Other notable models on the list are the OPPO Reno12, iQOO Z8, Redmi Note 12T Pro, and the OnePlus Ace Racing Edition.

  • iPhone 16 Pro to Feature Periscope Lens with 5x Optical Zoom

iPhone 16 Pro to Feature Periscope Lens with 5x Optical Zoom

Apple is anticipated to outfit both iPhone 16 Pro variants with a periscope lens, introducing 5x optical zoom to the standard Pro model for the first time.

Previously, this remarkable zoom capability was exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro Max, forcing users to decide between a smaller device or enhanced telephoto functionality. According to DigiTimes, this leak indicates that Apple is responding to user feedback and striving to deliver a uniform Pro camera experience across its range.

    Production and Design Innovations

The report reveals that Apple has commenced production of periscope lens modules, collaborating with Largan Precision and Yujingguang.

The iPhone 16 Pro adopts a distinctive approach to its telephoto lens, featuring a “quadruple-reflection prism” design. This innovation results in a slimmer camera bump compared to rivals but comes with certain drawbacks. The additional light reflections within the lens cause some light loss, which could impact low-light telephoto performance. It remains uncertain if Apple has addressed this issue in the iPhone 16 series.

    Enhanced Zoom Capabilities

While the iPhone 16 Pro garners attention for its new 5x zoom, rumors about the iPhone 16 Pro Max suggest an even more advanced telephoto camera. Speculation points to a “super telephoto” lens unique to the Pro Max, potentially offering superior zoom capabilities.

    Additional Upgrades

In addition to camera enhancements, rumors hint at a potential design revamp for the iPhone 16 series. The camera layout might switch to a vertical arrangement, and the standard iPhone 16 and Plus models could adopt the “Action button” previously reserved for Pro models. Physical buttons may be replaced with touch-sensitive alternatives that offer haptic feedback for a more streamlined user experience.

Base models are expected to feature A18 chips, with the possibility of A18 Pro chips powering the Pro variants. On the software front, the iPhone 16 series will operate on the newly unveiled AI-powered iOS 18.

Below are the image samples for your reference.

    Realme GT6 Camera Performance

Xu Qi shared four images on his official Weibo account. Due to significant compression, the images have a resolution of 690 x 591, making it difficult to evaluate details and noise levels. Nonetheless, the pictures display impressive dynamic range and pleasing colors. One image, capturing a flying bird, indicates that the camera can handle fast-moving subjects well, at least in well-lit conditions.

The phone is equipped with a 50MP main sensor from Sony, possibly the Sony IMX890, according to earlier rumors. This sensor is 1/1.56″ in size with a pixel size of 1.0µm. The main camera also includes OIS (Optical Image Stabilization). It is complemented by an 8MP ultrawide camera and a 16MP selfie camera on the front.

  • Motorola Releases Android 14 Update for 2023 Razr Phones

Motorola Releases Android 14 Update for 2023 Razr Phones

Motorola has a reputation for being slow with software updates across its devices. While the company excels in providing top-notch hardware at competitive prices, it often neglects the critical aspect of timely software updates essential for long-term usability and security. This pattern is consistent across their entire range, from budget devices to flagship models.

Recently, the Motorola Razr 2023 foldables, which launched with Android 13, have finally been updated. Reports indicate that Motorola has begun rolling out the Android 14 update for these phones.

    Android 14 Update Details

Initially shared on Reddit and later verified by tech blogs like 9to5Google, the update introduces Android 14 and the May 2024 security patch to older Razr and Razr+ models. Razr+ users also gain a few new features for the external cover screen, such as Always On Display (AOD) functionality.

However, the update rollout appears to be phased, so not all users will get it simultaneously. Some might find the update available sooner than others, making it a waiting game until it reaches all eligible devices.

    Geographic Rollout

The rollout currently seems concentrated on the US market. Users outside the US may need to be patient. Motorola’s official website has a support page for the update, but the international rollout has yet to commence.

This sluggish update strategy comes nearly nine months after Google released Android 14 for Pixel phones. While Motorola should be credited for eventually providing the update, the slow deployment and lack of clear communication remain significant concerns.

    Looking Ahead to Android 15

With discussions around Android 14, it’s natural to anticipate the arrival of Android 15. The pressing question is whether the Razr and Razr+ will receive this update and, if so, when it will be available.

There is also the option to cancel and receive a full refund after the official announcement.

    Design and Specifications

Leaks indicate that the Mix Fold 4 will boast a more premium design compared to its predecessor. The back panel might feature a faux leather finish and a raised rectangular module containing four cameras, an LED flash on the left, and Leica branding on the right.

Honor Magic V3 Camera Samples: See Real-Life Images Now

Honor’s next foldable phone, the Magic V3, is slated for a July 12th release. Real-life photos and camera samples have emerged on Weibo, thanks to tipster WhyLab.

The device is featured in two color options: Orange with a faux leather back and a golden camera frame, and White with a glass panel and a silver-finished camera frame. It will also be available in Black and Green.

    Slim Design

The tipster highlighted the phone’s slim profile, both folded and unfolded. When unfolded, the Magic V3 is expected to be the world’s thinnest foldable phone, taking over from the Magic V2, which holds the current record at 9.9mm. This is achieved partly due to a new battery with 10% silicon content, making the Magic V3 4.4% thinner than its predecessor.

Another image demonstrated the minimal crease of the Magic V3. According to the tipster, the crease is barely noticeable during use.

    Camera and Performance

WhyLab also posted camera samples of the Honor Magic V3, some of which are included below for a closer look:

Although the full camera specifications haven’t been revealed, it is rumored that the device will include a periscope telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom.

    Advanced Features

Internally, the phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, a battery with approximately 5,000mAh capacity, and support for 66W fast charging.

Honor has also developed an Honor E1 chip to enhance power management in the Magic V3, reportedly maximizing energy efficiency to extend battery life.

The foldable phone is expected to include two-way satellite connectivity support. More details are anticipated to be disclosed as we approach the official launch date on July 12.

Honor Magic V3 Debuts with Industry’s First 10% Silicon Battery

The Honor Magic V3 is set to debut on July 12. Prior to the launch event, the company conducted a technology conference in its home country, showcasing its latest advancements and innovations in the slim and lightweight foldable phone category.

Industry’s First 10% Silicon Content Battery

During the conference, Honor announced the creation of the industry’s first battery with 10% silicon content. This advanced battery will power the soon-to-be-released Honor Magic V3. The new silicon anode battery is 4.4% thinner than its predecessor and contains over 10% silicon, marking a first in the industry. The energy density is 5.74% higher than the previous generation, which means the battery can store more energy in a given space or mass. Increased energy density allows the battery to take up less internal volume without sacrificing capacity, making the phone thinner.

    Enhanced Performance

Honor also introduced the Honor E1 chip, designed to optimize power management and maximize energy efficiency to extend battery life. Leaks and rumors suggest that the Honor Magic V3 will feature a plain leather body and a significantly improved camera module. For reference, the Magic V2 is 9.9mm thick when closed and 4.7mm when opened. It includes a 50MP main camera, 20MP 2.5x telephoto lens, and a 50MP ultrawide camera on the back, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. The second-generation silicon anode battery in the V2 has a capacity of 5000mAh and supports 66W fast charging.

The upcoming Honor Magic V3 is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, while still maintaining the same 5000mAh battery capacity.
