This expansion brings back the Mexican lands from Red Dead Redemption 1, completely rebuilt with updated graphics and more gameplay features. The announcement trailer was shared on Rixus’s YouTube channel, highlighting the mod’s vast world and visual enhancements.

    Explore the New World

    The trailer description states that players can “explore the forgotten state of Nuevo Paraíso, redesigned from the ground up with incredible detail while preserving the aesthetic of both games.” Each town, settlement, and camp has been “carefully crafted to capture the essence of Mexico,” featuring new plants for every area, well-maintained roads and paths, and immersive landscapes “brought to life by the natural movements of its inhabitants as they go about their daily lives.”

    A Seamless Experience

    Set in the year 1907, Nuevo Paraíso – The Forgotten Frontier keeps the mood, lighting, and tone of Red Dead Redemption 2 intact, creating a smooth and cohesive experience that aligns with the original story. The trailer mentions that the army patrols the borders and that every site is designed to fit naturally within the existing RDR 2 world map.

    More Than Just a Map

    The Nuevo Paraíso RDR 2 mod promises to add more than just an enlarged map. It includes new settlements, paths, types of vegetation, and detailed environments, as well as extra side quests, hidden secrets, and lore-based content that expands upon RDR 2’s story.

    According to the mod description, the region’s people show dynamic behaviours, making the Mexico map feel like a lively and vibrant part of Red Dead Redemption 2. Although it is not an official release by Rockstar Games, Nuevo Paraíso – The Forgotten Frontier is described in the trailer as a large-scale fan expansion that is similar in scope to a full DLC.

    Current Development Status

    As stated in the trailer’s description, the mod is currently showcasing and is not available for public download yet. Development is still ongoing and is exclusive to PC, with updates regarding release information and future access expected later on Nexus Mods.
