  • Galaxy Z Flip 6 Leak: Bigger Camera & Redesigned Speaker Grill

Galaxy Z Flip 6 Leak: Bigger Camera & Redesigned Speaker Grill

Samsung is anticipated to showcase its 6th generation foldable, the Galaxy Buds 3, and the Galaxy Ring at the forthcoming Galaxy Unpacked event, which is likely to take place on July 10 in Paris.

    Galaxy Z Flip 6 Render

The render reveals a redesigned speaker grill and larger camera modules.

Before the event, design details of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 have surfaced thanks to a leaked render of the phone featuring a third-party protective case. Notably, the 6th generation flip phone will present only a few minor design updates.

Comparatively, the Z Flip 6 render displays even sharper frame edges than the Galaxy Z Flip 5. A design alteration resembling the Galaxy S24 series is evident in the speaker grill. Instead of multiple separate holes, it now features a single wide opening.

Furthermore, the camera modules in the render are larger than those of its predecessor, and the gap between the two modules has been minimized.

    Additional Features

An extra hole in the frame at the top of the phone is also noticeable, unlike the Z Flip 5, which had only one. However, this seems to be an error, as the Z Flip 5 includes all the sensors found in the Galaxy S24 Ultra (one below and two on top), each with three similar holes. In contrast, the Z Flip 6 render shows four.

Nevertheless, it’s important to treat this information cautiously, as it is based on a leaked render and not a photo of the actual product. With several days remaining before the release, we will continue to provide updates as new information emerges.

The Honor 200 Pro will weigh 199 grams and will be available in Sky Blue, Coral Pink, Moon Shadow White, and Ink Black.

    Honor 200 Specifications (Rumored)

The Honor 200 will come with a slightly smaller 6.7-inch quad-curved OLED panel, offering similar features to the Pro version. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 Enhanced Version chipset. On the front, it will feature a single 50-megapixel camera, and on the back, it will have a 50-megapixel Sony IMX906 camera with OIS. Other specifications will mirror those of the Pro model.

    Missing Features

However, the Honor 200 will lack wireless charging, reverse charging, an RF chip, and an IP rating. It will weigh 187 grams and will be available in the same colors as the Pro variant. Differences in RAM and storage between the two models are expected but have not been disclosed yet.

As always, readers are cautioned to take this information with a grain of salt, as the authenticity of the leak has not been verified.

  • iFixit Ends Samsung Repair Hub Citing Misaligned Repairability Goals

iFixit Ends Samsung Repair Hub Citing Misaligned Repairability Goals

After two years of launching the Samsung Repair Hub together with the company, iFixit is now concluding this collaboration. Starting next month, they will cease to be Samsung’s designated third-party distributor for parts and tools.

    Samsung Galaxy A55 Teardown

iFixit stated, “Our goal was to set the gold standard for repair documentation and empower local independent repair businesses with the necessary tools and parts, all while keeping Galaxy devices operational.”

Samsung Reportedly Didn’t Want to Support Local Repair Shops

However, iFixit has been unable to achieve their objectives. They argue that the high prices of repair parts and tools have led users to opt for replacing their devices instead of repairing them. Samsung hasn't been cooperative in aiding local repair shops. Additionally, Samsung has not provided official parts for its recent models since the Galaxy S22.

As a result, iFixit is terminating its partnership with Samsung after two years of effort. They noted that Samsung’s repairability approach did not align with their own. The following changes will occur:

    • Starting June 2024, iFixit will no longer be Samsung’s designated third-party distributor for parts and tools.
    • Beginning next month, the limit of seven Samsung parts per repair shop per quarter will be removed.
    • Existing information on iFixit will remain, but there will be no new collaboration with Samsung to develop manuals.
    • iFixit will continue selling parts and repair kits for Samsung devices, sourcing OEM parts when available and indicating clearly whether parts are original or aftermarket, similar to their approach with Apple repair parts.

Samsung has responded to a request for comment, essentially affirming their desire to maintain control over the process.

Here’s what they said: “Samsung is committed to providing quality, accessible device care to our customers with flexible options to suit their needs, including walk-in, mail-in, and ‘We Come to You’ services. For those interested in our self-repair program, we offer Samsung-certified parts, tools, and information for our qualified products in one convenient location: SamsungParts.com, powered by Encompass. We’re proud of the work we’ve done with iFixit. We can’t comment further on partnership details at this time.”

  • Reno 12, 12 Pro: First Android Phones to Send Live Photos

Reno 12, 12 Pro: First Android Phones to Send Live Photos

The Oppo Reno12 series was introduced to the Chinese market yesterday, featuring two models: the Reno 12 and the Reno 12 Pro. These phones are the first Android devices to allow users to share live photos on social media platforms.

Reno 12 Series Enhances Live Photo Sharing

Continuing the legacy of its predecessors, the Reno 12 series promises an exceptional photography experience. Live Photos capture motion just before and after the shutter clicks. Although Android phones could previously take Live Photos, they couldn’t be shared on social media as anything other than still images.

The Reno12 series changes this by enabling users to share Live Photos directly on social platforms. Additionally, users can beautify and customize these photos by adjusting colors, adding filters, and incorporating text and stickers.

The global launch of the Reno 12 and 12 Pro is anticipated soon, though the international versions might come with different specifications.

    Oppo Reno 12 Pro

In the Chinese market, the Reno 12 is priced at 2,699 Yuan ($372), while the 12 Pro starts at 3,199 Yuan ($440). Both models come with a 6.7-inch curved-edge OLED display, boasting a 2412 x 1080 pixels FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Camera-wise, they feature a 50-megapixel front camera and a triple rear camera system: a 50-megapixel (LYT-600 on the Reno 12, IMX890 on the Reno 12 Pro) + 8-megapixel + 50-megapixel (2x telephoto) setup. They are powered by a 5000mAh battery with 80W fast charging support.

    Specifications and Features

The Reno 12 is powered by the Dimensity 8250 chip, while the Reno 12 Pro comes with the Dimensity 9200+ SoC. Both models offer LPDDR5x RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, an IP65-rated chassis, an in-screen fingerprint sensor, and an IR blaster. The Pro variant also includes additional features like dual speakers and an X-axis linear motor.
