The revelation from the Samsung executive is in line with the previously rumored timeline by a consumer tech analyst. The South Korean brand conducts two Galaxy Unpacked events every year with the second one in August. However, last year marked the first time it was held early at the end of July hence, this year Samsung’s plans remain to be seen. The event usually focuses on the new generation Galaxy Z Foldables, Tablets, and Watches. Hence, the Galaxy Ring launching at the same event doesn’t come as a surprise.

Future update to enhance the cameras of Samsung Galaxy S24
Samsung’s latest flagship, the Galaxy S24 series, brings a range of improvements in both hardware and software. However, users have encountered a few minor issues with the camera and are expecting an update to address this issue.

Fortunately, Samsung has officially acknowledged the concern and these issues will likely be solved via the upcoming software updates.
Concerns regarding the camera quality were initially raised by a user in Samsung’s official forum. In response, a moderator revealed that Samsung is actively working on optimizing the camera of Galaxy S24 based on valuable user feedback collected from various sources.

They revealed they are working on improving color accuracy and refining the “3D effect” when compared to previous Galaxy S models.
While user feedback indicates an overall improvement in the S24 cameras compared to the S23, there are still some reported issues.

This includes noise and banding in low-light skies, slight overexposure in daylight, and limited dynamic range around specific light sources in low-light conditions (via SamMobile). Some users have also noted detail loss in certain textures. So these issues should also be addressed in the upcoming camera update.

Leaked via China Telecom listing: Specs and images of Coolpad Grand View Y60s
At the end of December, Coolpad launched a budget 5G smartphone in China called Coolpad Grand View Y60. Now, a variant of this handset called Coolpad Grand View Y60s has been listed in China Telecom’s product library with specifications and images.
Smaller Display and Toned-Down Features
According to the listing, the upcoming Coolpad Grand View Y60s, with model number CP3CT1, will come with toned-down features compared to the regular Y60. It will be powered by the same Unisoc T760 chip and will run on Android 13. However, the Y60s will have a smaller 6.5-inch display, as opposed to the slightly larger 6.7-inch screen on the older device. The resolution will remain the same at HD+ (1600 x 720 pixels).
Cameras and Battery
The Y60s will feature the same cameras as the Y60. It will have a 13MP primary sensor paired with a 0.08MP depth sensor, and a 5MP selfie camera on the front. The phone will be backed by a smaller 4,500mAh battery compared to the 5,000mAh unit in the Y60, resulting in a lighter weight of 183.2g (vs 193g). It will be available in Iris Black and Wheat Ear Gold color options.

Lei Jun, the CEO and Co-Founder of Xiaomi, has just announced that William Lu is the new General Manager of the company. The founder also revealed that the newly appointed Xiaomi GM will also handle the unveiling of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra.

He adds that as he dedicates himself to the EV business, the brand has appointed Willian Lu to assume the role of General Manager of the Xiaomi brand, which will have him take the stage for upcoming smartphone launches. Notably, William’s presence will begin with the flagship Xiaomi 14 Ultra.
William confirmed his role in another tweet and expressed his excitement regarding the Xiaomi 14 Ultra launch. In other words, the next gen flagship’s release is right around the corner. Just last week, the premium grade handset got certified on major platforms like TUV Rheinland and IMDA. Meanwhile, a GeekBench sighting revealed its synthetic benchmark scores as well as some key specs.
