Xiaomi is preparing to expand its recently unveiled Redmi Watch 6 lineup with two lower-cost variants. Following the mid-May debut of the standard model, early details have now surfaced for the Redmi Watch 6 Active and Redmi Watch 6 Lite, offering a clearer picture of what each device will bring to the budget smartwatch segment.
Redmi Watch 6 Active: A Slimmed-Down Entry Point
With a target price of €50 ($57), the Redmi Watch 6 Active becomes the most accessible option in the series. It retains a look closely resembling the standard Redmi Watch 6 but omits the digital crown entirely. The AMOLED panel is scaled down to 1.85 inches with a resolution of 450 x 390 pixels. A smaller 470 mAh battery—14.5 percent less capacity—promises around ten days of typical usage or up to 20 days in a dedicated power-saving mode.
The watch includes built-in speakers and microphones, enabling users to handle phone calls through a paired smartphone. Health tracking features a heart rate and SpO2 sensor, and the device supports 140 sports modes for activity logging.
Redmi Watch 6 Lite: Added Precision and GPS
Priced slightly higher at $60 ($69), the Redmi Watch 6 Lite distinguishes itself with a more sculpted case design that incorporates a subtle bulge on the right side. Its display grows to a 1.96-inch AMOLED panel with a sharper 502 x 410 pixel resolution, while the internal battery remains the same 470 mAh cell found on the Active model.
For the additional cost, the Lite version delivers two key hardware upgrades: a more accurate 9-axis motion sensor and an integrated GPS module for location tracking without a phone. An NFC chip for contactless payments, however, is reserved exclusively for the pricier Redmi Watch 6. Launch dates for the Active and Lite editions have not yet been confirmed.
The emerging split across the Redmi Watch 6 family mirrors a wider industry trend in which manufacturers layer features—such as standalone GPS and advanced sensors—into mid-tier wearables while offering essentials at even sharper price points.
