Xiaomi has broadened its Redmi K90 family with the introduction of the Redmi K90 Ultra, a performance-focused addition that slots in alongside the existing K90 Pro Max and K90 Max models. The device arrives with an aggressive set of specifications aimed at power users, headlined by an advanced cooling solution and a massive battery.
Display and Processing Platform
The Redmi K90 Ultra is built around a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2,772 x 1,280 pixels. The screen offers a 165Hz maximum refresh rate and reaches 3,500 nits of peak brightness, while also including DC dimming for reduced flicker.
Under the hood, the handset runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. Memory configurations scale up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1 internal storage. Xiaomi has equipped the phone with an active cooling system that incorporates an 18.1mm fan, which is rated to produce approximately 32dB of noise during operation. A dedicated D2 graphics chip is also present, which the company says is designed to elevate gaming frame rates and stability.
Camera System and Audio
For photography, the device uses a 50-megapixel 1/1.55-inch main sensor with optical image stabilization, paired with an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens. A 20-megapixel front-facing camera sits in a centered punch-hole cutout. Audio is handled by a set of symmetrical dual stereo speakers that carry tuning by Bose.
Battery, Charging and Durability
One of the standout features is an 8,550mAh battery, which supports 100W wired fast charging. The phone forgoes wireless charging but does offer 22.5W wired reverse charging for accessories. Xiaomi has secured IP66, IP68, and IP69 dust and water resistance ratings for the K90 Ultra, giving it protection against high-pressure water jets and full immersion.
The handset ships with HyperOS 3, which runs atop Android 16, and is available in three finishes: Space Silver, Shadow Black, and Sky Blue.
Memory Configurations and Availability
Xiaomi is offering the Redmi K90 Ultra in four distinct memory tiers:
- 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage
- 12 GB RAM + 512 GB storage
- 16 GB RAM + 256 GB storage
- 16 GB RAM + 512 GB storage
The company has not yet confirmed whether the Redmi K90 Ultra will be sold outside China, leaving international launch plans uncertain for now. In a segment where high-capacity batteries and sustained performance are increasingly prioritized by mobile gamers and heavy users, the K90 Ultra’s active cooling and 8,550mAh cell position it as a direct challenge to other flagship-grade devices that rely solely on passive thermal management.
