Ultrahuman has begun deploying Emerald, the most significant software overhaul in its history, delivering a fully redesigned application and a suite of tools engineered to translate complex biometrics into clear, actionable guidance.
An AI-Powered Decision Engine
At the center of the release is UltraSphere, an on-device artificial intelligence system described as a “decision engine.” It synthesizes more than 60 personalized “Next Best Action” prompts by analyzing sleep patterns, recovery status, heart rate variability, skin temperature, cycle phase, and glucose readings, alongside contextual factors such as location, local weather, and daily rhythm. Instead of leaving users to interpret raw metrics, the tool serves direct suggestions—for example, recommending morning light exposure or advising a reduction in caffeine to protect sleep quality.
Redesigned Architecture and Broader Compatibility
Emerald shifts a substantial portion of data processing to the ring itself, making key insights accessible without an internet connection. The update introduces refreshed navigation, light and dark display modes, improved automatic workout detection, and refined heart rate tracking for both Ring Air and Ring Pro. It also features a more precise VO₂ Max algorithm that the company says has been validated through laboratory testing. In a move that extends the ecosystem, support now reaches third-party wearables including Apple Watch, Garmin devices, and WHOOP bands.
A Wider Set of Health Tools
Further additions include Live View for real-time health monitoring, a Sleep Screener, a dedicated Longevity section, contextual notifications, and an expansion of AI capabilities through the Jade assistant. The Emerald update is available at no cost to all Ultrahuman users.
