Tessan has introduced the Aero 5000, an ultra-thin magnetic power bank designed for MagSafe-compatible handsets including Apple’s iPhone lineup. The accessory draws on a pure cobalt semi-solid-state battery, which the company says significantly lowers fire risk compared to conventional lithium-ion cells.
Titanium alloy shell and slim magnetic attachment
The device measures just 103 × 69.8 × 6.9 mm (4.06 × 2.75 × 0.27 inches), preserving a sleek silhouette when magnetically mounted to the rear of a smartphone. Its front cover is machined from titanium alloy for high durability and scratch resistance, while the back panel uses a PC+ABS blend to permit unimpeded wireless power transfer.
Semi-solid-state battery technology
Inside, Tessan’s SolidSafe battery replaces traditional liquid electrolyte with a semi-solid-state alternative that is far less prone to ignition if punctured or damaged. The design addresses persistent safety concerns surrounding lithium battery incidents during air travel and everyday carry, without sacrificing energy density.
Charging performance and availability
The Aero 5000 houses a 5,000 mAh (3.85 V, 19.25 Wh) battery pack. It delivers up to 15 watts output during wireless charging and up to 20 watts through its wired connection. Tessan has priced the power bank at $69 and is accepting pre-orders through its official website, with the first shipments expected to begin in October 2026.
The launch comes as ultra-portable power accessories increasingly emphasize thermal safety and form factor, with several manufacturers exploring solid-state and semi-solid-state chemistries to differentiate their products in a crowded market.
