Seiko has expanded its long-running Presage Cocktail series with three new automatic references released in Japan. The models—designated HCB001J, HCB002J, and HCB003J—each carry a list price of ¥68,200 and mark the latest evolution of a design language that has drawn from classic drink colors and textures since 2016.

Dial and Styling Choices

The entry carries familiar cocktail-inspired cues translated into distinct combinations. The HCB001J pairs a blue sunburst dial with a stainless steel bracelet, while the HCB002J features a deep green dial matched to a brown leather strap. Rounding out the trio, the HCB003J has a warm brown dial, also fitted on a brown leather strap. Across all three, dagger-style indices with gold-tone accents anchor the face, preserving the dressy balance the Presage line is known for.

Mechanical Foundation and Case Dimensions

Inside, Seiko uses the 4R35 automatic calibre—a workhorse movement offering manual winding, a hacking seconds function, a date display, 23 jewels, and a 41-hour power reserve. While it is not the most technically elevated engine in the Presage stable, its reputation for steady reliability aligns with the price segment. The stainless steel case measures 38.5 mm in diameter, 11.8 mm in thickness, and 45.4 mm lug-to-lug. A box-shaped Hardlex crystal tops the dial, while a screw-down see-through case back reveals the movement. Water resistance is rated at 5 bar.

Build and Availability

The bracelet-equipped HCB001J weighs 108 g; the two leather-strap variants are noticeably lighter at 64 g each. Both leather options include a quick-release lever for easier strap changes. For now, all three watches are positioned as Japan-market releases, and Seiko has not yet confirmed broader international availability. At the current exchange rate, ¥68,200 translates to roughly $421.
