Meta introduces a dedicated charging stand for select smart glasses

  • A new charging stand joins Meta’s accessories lineup, designed to provide a convenient charging option for compatible glasses both at home and at work.

Product design and compatibility

  • The Glasses Charging Stand features a cross-cut cylinder shape with a stainless steel shell and a rubber foot. It includes a USB-C port on the back, requiring a USB-C cable and power adaptor.
  • When the glasses are placed in the ridge, charging begins automatically. An LED indicator on the stand lights orange while charging and turns green when fully charged.
  • Meta notes that the stand can charge supported glasses to 50% in about 20 minutes, with a full charge taking a little over an hour. Temples should be folded before placement on the stand.

Availability and pricing

  • The charging stand is priced at $59 and is available on Meta’s website as well as in physical retail stores.
  • It is compatible with the Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer, Ray-Ban Meta Skyler, Ray-Ban Meta Headliner, Ray-Ban Meta Blayzer Optics, Ray-Ban Meta Scriber Optics, Oakley Meta HSTN, Meta Fury, Meta Adventurer, and Meta Starfire. It is not compatible with the Meta Ray-Ban Display or Oakley Meta Vanguard.

Alternatives

  • For those seeking alternatives, third-party charging docks exist, such as the Carina S1 (listed at $29.99 on some retailers). Compatibility with Meta glasses should be verified before use.
