Casio has rounded out its US launch of the Baby-G BG169CM camouflage series with the introduction of the BG169CMB-8. Priced at $155, this latest model joins two earlier releases: the BG169CM-2 and BG169CM-4, each listed at $145. Together, the three variants deliver a military-inspired refresh of the brand’s enduring BG-169 platform, a round resin-cased design long recognized for its external metal face protectors.
A Trio of Camouflage Finishes
The first two editions to reach the market were the teal BG169CM-2 and the berry-pink BG169CM-4. Both models employ translucent dials that cultivate a bright, seasonal aesthetic. The newly available BG169CMB-8 takes a distinctly understated path, featuring an all-over grey camouflage print across the bezel and band. An ion-plated bezel ring adds a subtle metallic sheen, while a negative LCD display reinforces its monochromatic, muted character compared to its more colorful counterparts.
Consistent Core Functionality
Despite their visual differences, all three watches share an identical technical foundation. Owners gain access to world time covering 29 time zones and 30 cities with daylight saving time support, alongside a stopwatch, countdown timer, hourly time signal, and five daily alarms. A white LED backlight with afterglow aids low-light visibility. The digital module also retains two legacy utilities: a Telememo function capable of storing up to 25 contacts, and a Day Counter that calculates the remaining days until a target date as far ahead as 2049. Water resistance across the series is uniformly rated at 200 meters.
A Street-Ready Update
The BG-169 form has remained a staple of the Baby-G lineup, and the CM series overlays a street-fashion camouflage treatment without altering the compact proportions of the original design. All three models are now available directly through Casio’s US online store.
