The GBX-H5600KI-5, the fourth G-Shock signature model created with the athlete, was recently photographed at what appears to be a Japanese retail display, offering a far clearer view than the initial promotional renders.
A correction on color
Earlier digital imagery had left some ambiguity regarding the accent color used on the watch. The detailed hands-on shots now confirm that the text accents are purple, not pink as some had speculated. The Instagram account that shared the images noted the clarification after verifying directly with Casio and adjusting their own earlier description.
Case finish and design details
The new photographs also reveal the depth of the watch’s physical texture. Under indoor lighting, the dark, marbled case surface reads less like a printed graphic and more like organic mottled stone. This aligns with the original design brief, which drew inspiration from the rugged cliff faces of Ericeira, a famed Portuguese surfing reserve. The display on the demo unit was active, showing the date, time, battery status, heart rate mode label, and a collection of tide graph and Bluetooth connectivity icons. Igarashi’s signature is placed neatly below the screen, while the “50” marking—a nod to his World Surf League competition bib number—sits clearly on the lower strap in natural daylight rather than a controlled studio environment.

Accompanying retail signage confirms the product is being merchandised under Casio’s tide-focused G-Lide line and tagged as a “New” signature model. Early community reactions have been mixed.
