Released simultaneously in Canada, the new ThinkBook 14x tips the scales at just 990 grams when configured with its standard 54.7 Wh battery. For context, that makes the device roughly 30% lighter than the ThinkBook 14 G9 IPL, a model reviewed earlier this month.
Configuration and Performance Options
The North American launch model is powered by an Intel Core Ultra 5 226V processor from the Lunar Lake family, paired with 16 GB of on-package LPDDR5X memory running at 8,533 MT/s. Based on the company’s recent product patterns, Lenovo may eventually expand the offering to include the faster Core Ultra 7 256V or Core Ultra 7 266V processors. Dedicated 32 GB RAM configurations, listed as the Core Ultra 7 258V and Core Ultra 7 268V, are also expected to follow.
Storage and Display Details
Storage is handled by a 256 GB drive occupying the M.2 2242 slot, with room to add extra capacity via a secondary SSD slot that supports full-size M.2 2280 drives. In the US, the ThinkBook 14x features a 1200p IPS display rated at 400 nits peak brightness, complete with 100% sRGB color space coverage and a smooth 120 Hz refresh rate. Notably absent from the North American configuration is a 2.8K OLED panel, a display option available elsewhere that offers higher brightness, superior color accuracy, and a variable refresh rate.

The compact chassis measures 312 x 217 x 12.9~15.6 mm and includes a haptic touchpad for precise, tactile navigation. On the connectivity front, the laptop does not include Thunderbolt 4 ports. Lenovo instead equips it with 10 Gbps USB-C alternatives that support DisplayPort Alt Mode and USB Power Delivery.
