iQoo’s next performance-oriented handset is beginning to take shape well ahead of its official debut. A fresh leak has outlined some of the key hardware choices under consideration for the iQoo 16T, the successor to the iQoo 15T that arrived in May 2026.
Processor paths under evaluation
According to well-known tipster Digital Chat Station, the iQoo 16T is currently being tested with Qualcomm’s standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 (SM8950). The platform is expected to be built on a 2nm process and pair an Adreno 845 GPU with LPDDR5X RAM. In parallel, the company is reportedly also assessing the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 as a possible alternative chipset.
Cooling and display details
The leak further indicates that the iQoo 16T will include a built-in cooling fan—a feature iQoo currently reserves for its top-tier iQoo 15 Ultra. By contrast, the standard iQoo 16 is said to forego an integrated fan entirely. The iQoo 16T may also adopt a flat Samsung panel with a “2K” resolution, pointing to a display tuned for both sharpness and gaming responsiveness.
Positioning alongside the standard iQoo 16
The standard iQoo 16 is expected to step up to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro (SM8975), which is tipped to offer LPDDR6 RAM and an Adreno 850 GPU. This chipset distinction suggests the 16T will occupy a slightly different performance tier than the regular model. iQoo is currently anticipated to launch the standard iQoo 16 alongside a new compact tablet in the fourth quarter of 2026, though the 16T’s launch window has not yet surfaced.
