Poco has confirmed that a new addition to its M-series lineup, the Poco M8 Power 5G, is headed to the Indian market. A dedicated microsite on Flipkart is now live, teasing the device’s imminent arrival. The official promotional material features the phone in a striking orange finish and prominently highlights a large battery, although the company has stopped short of disclosing the exact capacity.

A Likely Rebadge with Potential Twists

While full specifications and the launch date remain under wraps, early indicators point to the device’s lineage. Industry observers have identified the phone’s model number within HyperOS source code, strongly suggesting that the Poco M8 Power 5G is a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 17. If this holds true, the device would inherit a substantial 7-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2,396 x 1,080 pixels and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it would rely on the entry-level Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset.

Expected Internals and Market Positioning

The source hardware also points to an 8,000mAh battery supported by 45W wired charging and 22.5W reverse wired charging capability. The camera array in that scenario would include a 50MP rear sensor and an 8MP front-facing camera. However, Poco has a track record of differentiating its rebranded devices in key areas. The standard Poco M8, which launched in January 2026 and shares a platform with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 15, substituted that model’s 108MP main camera with a 50MP sensor. It remains to be seen whether the Poco M8 Power 5G will follow a similar path by altering a marquee component while preserving the massive battery and display technology that anchor the package.
