Insta360 appears ready to update its flagship 360-degree action camera, with a new model surfacing through leaked packaging and user-posted images. The upcoming device, expected to be called the Insta360 X6, would succeed the Insta360 X5, which currently retails for $549.
Battery life and imaging upgrades
Details printed on the retail box point to a notable endurance gain. The packaging states that the X6 can record for up to 140 minutes when shooting 8K footage at 30 frames per second in full 360-degree mode. A dedicated PureVideo Mode is also highlighted, designed to improve clarity in low-light conditions. The camera is listed as featuring a refined replaceable lens system, marketed as Replaceable Lenses 2.0.
Revised physical design
Separately, hands-on images posted by a Reddit user provide a side-by-side comparison with earlier cameras. The X6 appears shorter and wider than the vertically stretched Insta360 X5, and slightly taller than GoPro’s older Max 360 camera. These pictures also confirm the box contents, which will include a 2,600 mAh Extra Xtreme battery among the bundled accessories.
Pricing and availability
The official unveiling of the Insta360 X6 is rumoured to take place on July 30. Based on earlier reports, a full accessory bundle is expected to be priced at €789, with a direct conversion of approximately $897. A standalone camera package, without additional accessories, is anticipated to sell in the Eurozone for around €589, roughly equivalent to $670.
