Compared to the 2024 Futura SL I-12, the latest iteration pares away an additional 300 grams, arriving at a total weight of 17.4 kilograms (38.36 pounds), or 17 kilograms without pedals. The weight savings have not come at the expense of everyday utility: the bike remains fully equipped with an integrated lighting system, a taillight embedded in the rear fender, and a sturdy rear luggage rack.
Motor and Battery Strategy
Hercules deliberately sidesteps heavier, high-torque drive units for this build. At its core sits the weight-conscious Bosch Performance Line SX mid-drive motor, which produces up to 60 Nm of torque and draws energy from a 400 Wh Bosch CompactTube battery. Riders who need extra range can add an optional range extender. System controls and ride metrics are channeled through the minimalist Bosch Purion 200 display.
Chassis, Brakes, and Drivetrain
Stopping power is supplied by hydraulic Shimano BR-UR300 disc brakes, gripping 180-millimeter rotors at both ends. The bike rolls on Schwalbe G-One RS Pro Evo gravel tires, selected for their low rolling resistance and dependable traction across loose terrain. To keep mass in check, Hercules pairs an aluminum frame with a carbon fork, while a 12-speed Shimano XT RD-M8100 drivetrain manages gear shifting across varied gradients.
