Samsung’s next-generation flagship tablet series is gradually coming into focus, with fresh certification filings offering an early glimpse of the Galaxy Tab S12+. The move follows the September 2025 debut of the Galaxy Tab S11 family, which launched with the standard Tab S11 at $899 and the Tab S11 Ultra. This time, industry expectations point toward a streamlined lineup consisting of the Galaxy Tab S12+ and Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra.

Certification reveals design details

Regulatory filings with South Korea’s Safety Korea agency have now published what appears to be the first live image of the Galaxy Tab S12+. Documents identify the Wi-Fi-only model as SM-X840, while SM-X846N designates the 5G variant destined for the Korean market. Although the certification listings do not disclose internal hardware specifications, the accompanying photograph shows the front panel of the device.

A notable visual detail in the certification image concerns the front-facing camera. Earlier rumors had predicted a punch-hole cutout embedded within the display itself. Instead, the image suggests the camera is positioned in the display bezel, preserving an uninterrupted screen area. The design approach would be a more conservative choice compared to the hole-punch alternative that had been widely speculated.

Performance and battery expectations

Under the hood, chipset details remain unofficial, but an earlier leak indicated Samsung may equip the tablets with the MediaTek Dimensity 9500. This flagship octa-core processor is built on a 3nm process and would mark a significant silicon choice if confirmed. The larger Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra, meanwhile, is tipped to feature a 14.6-inch display paired with an 11,600 mAh battery, maintaining the expansive form factor and substantial battery capacity that have defined the Ultra tier in previous generations.

The Galaxy Tab S12 series currently has no confirmed launch date, though industry sources suggest Samsung is planning to introduce the tablets around September or October 2026. The unveiling is expected to coincide with the arrival of the Galaxy S26 FE, positioning both products together in Samsung’s late-year portfolio refresh. As the launch window approaches, additional certifications and regulatory filings will likely provide further details on the completed hardware.
