Dynabook has quietly refreshed its Portégé X30L series with a new “P” variant, bringing Intel’s latest-generation Panther Lake processors to one of the lightest notebooks in its class. The X30L-P tips the scales at roughly 910 grams (or 2 lbs), preserving the line’s hallmark combination of easy portability and capable everyday performance.
Configuration and Processor Outlook
Listing details indicate that the X30L-P will not offer the highest-tier Core Ultra X7 or Core Ultra X9 chips, which feature the more powerful Arc B390 integrated graphics. Although Dynabook has yet to publish the full list of available processors, this suggests the notebook is being positioned one tier below its Z40L-P sibling in maximum graphics performance. Intel’s Panther Lake architecture spans a wide range from 6 to 16 cores, making it difficult to predict real-world speed without knowing the exact SKU.
That said, the model this machine replaces was sold with higher-power 16-core H-class silicon. If Dynabook remains consistent, a high-end 16-core Core Ultra 7 366H could appear among the options. Dynabook has confirmed that the X30L-P can be equipped with up to 64 GB of LPDDR5X memory and 2 TB of SSD storage, figures that place it firmly in the premium ultraportable segment. The notebook is built around a 13.3-inch WUXGA panel with a 16:10 aspect ratio, offering extra vertical room for documents and web content. While the company has not mentioned an OLED option, the previous generation relied solely on IPS technology with either a 300-nit or 400-nit brightness rating.

The Portégé X30L-P occupies a distinctly weight-conscious niche, where every gram matters without sacrificing standard-voltage processing power. Dynabook has announced a starting price of $1,650 for the new model, though exact availability dates remain under wraps for now. In a landscape where many ultralight notebooks default to lower-wattage U-series silicon, the X30L-P’s potential inclusion of higher-core-count H-class chips would keep it positioned as an unusually punchy travel companion.
