Last July, Durobo announced the Krono, but unfortunately, its release got delayed for a few months. Now though, the compact E-Note is out and you can grab one for about $279.99. It comes in classic black or white, giving a clean, simple look to consumers looking for a versatile gadget.
Design and Basic Features
The Durobo Krono is notably minimalist. No modem, camera, or speaker sits above its display, so you shouldn't expect it to replace your smartphone. Despite this, it offers good functionality since it runs on Android 15 and supports the Google Play Store. This means you can easily install plenty of e-book apps and even streaming music services, making the device more useful for daily entertainment.
Display & User Interface
Meant for simplicity, the user interface mainly centers around e-books, music, and notes, but it also hosts an AI assistant. The device sports a 6.13-inch E Ink Carta 1200 screen with 300 PPI, giving sharp image quality. It has a front light, which brightness you can adjust with the Smart Dial situated on the left side—this dial also lets you start voice memos or summon the AI assistant with a press.
Hardware & Technical Specifications
Powering the device is a yet-unnamed eight-core processor, paired with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. It features a sizable 3,950 mAh battery, promising decent battery life. The device is fairly slim at 9.0 millimeters thick and weighs only 173 grams. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, dual stereo speakers, microphones, and a USB-C port, fully rounding out its list of features.
