Casio has begun accepting preorders in Japan for two fresh colorways of its vintage-inspired A130 digital watch. The A130WE-3AJF and A130WE-9AJF are each priced at ¥8,800 (approximately $54) and are expected to begin shipping in July 2026.

A Familiar Retro Silhouette

The A130 line is Casio’s long-standing homage to the LC-analog digital watches of the 1980s, which combined an analog-style dial layout with a compact LCD window. These latest editions preserve that characteristic format entirely. Both feature a square resin case mounted on a stainless steel bracelet, with a steel-toned casing that departs from the black or gold finishes seen on earlier A130 variants. The WE-3A model arrives with a green dial, while the WE-9A is rendered in a cream or off-white tone.

Dimensions and Construction

The watch case measures 40.5 x 33.9 x 9 mm and weighs 54 grams, staying true to the compact, lightweight footprint for which the series is known. It is fitted with a free-style Nakadome stainless steel bracelet, adjustable between 150 and 205 mm. A plastic glass crystal covers the dial, which is consistent with the model’s accessible, budget-conscious positioning and its focus on retro-digital aesthetics rather than premium materials.

Core Functions Remain Unchanged

On the functional side, nothing differentiates these new colorways from previous A130 releases. They offer world time spanning 48 cities across 31 time zones plus UTC, a four-city multi-time display, a 1/100-second stopwatch with split timing, a 24-hour countdown timer, and five programmable daily alarms. A full auto-calendar is also included, along with an amber LED backlight featuring an adjustable afterglow. Timekeeping accuracy is rated at ±30 seconds per month, with an estimated battery life of roughly three years under typical use. The watch carries basic daily-use water resistance rather than a dedicated depth rating.

For now, both versions are available only through Casio’s Japanese online store, and the company has not yet announced plans for broader international availability or pricing outside Japan. The A130 series continues to serve as an affordable entry point for buyers seeking the look of early digital-analog hybrids without modern smartwatch complexity.
