Casio has formally extended its EFK-200 Edifice Automatic series beyond China, with preorders now open through the company’s official Japanese online store. The move confirms the mechanical lineup’s entry into a second major market and signals a gradual international rollout for the collection.
Five-Model Range with Japan-Specific Designations
The Japanese assortment mirrors the five variants first introduced in China, though each carries a unique JF-suffixed reference number and a higher price tag. At the top of the lineup, the Toyota Racing collaboration EFK-200XPB-1AJF is listed at ¥74,800 (approximately $460). It retains the forged carbon fiber dial and casing, rose gold-toned indexes, and rubber strap seen in the original Chinese release.
The stainless steel bracelet models are priced uniformly at ¥55,000 (around $338). These include the black EFK-200CD-1AJF—which replaces the EFK-200D-1A designation used in China—alongside the blue EFK-200D-2AJF and red EFK-200D-4AJF. Rounding out the collection is the gold-toned EFK-200DG-5AJF, set at ¥66,000 (roughly $406), positioned below the flagship Toyota Racing edition but above the standard steel variants.
Specifications Remain Unchanged
All five watches are built on the same mechanical foundation, using the Miyota 8215 movement designated as Casio Module 5766. The caliber operates at 21 jewels, delivers a 42-hour power reserve, and is rated for accuracy between -20 and +40 seconds per day. Each model features a sapphire crystal on the dial side and a mineral crystal display caseback. Case dimensions are consistent across the range at 43.6 mm in diameter, 38 mm lug-to-lug, and 11.9 mm in thickness.
A Notable Price Gap
Comparing launch prices reveals a premium for Japanese buyers. In China, the steel models such as the EFK-200D-1A and D-2A debuted at 2,490 CNY, equivalent to about $366. The same mechanical-and-steel combination now costs notably more in Japan. While such Japan-only pricing strategies are not uncommon in the domestic watch market, the difference is significant enough to warrant attention from cross-market shoppers.
Casio has yet to announce availability or pricing for other regions. At present, Japan and China remain the only confirmed markets, with sales in both conducted through preorder rather than standard retail channels. Further expansion, however, may be announced in the near future.
