Casio has quietly brought its A140WE series to the United States, continuing a global release that first started in Japan in early May. The new lineup softens the angular geometry often associated with the brand’s Vintage catalog, offering a rounder, more understated silhouette.
A refined take on a classic shape
The collection includes three variants. The A140WE-8A pairs a gray sunray dial with a silver-tone case, while the A140WE-2A features a navy dial in the same silver finish; both carry a price of $110. The third option, the A140WEG-9A, steps up to gold-ion plating over the resin body and a light gold dial, priced at $130.
Build and bracelet details
Dimensions remain compact at 39 mm by 36.8 mm, with a 10.4 mm thickness and a total weight of 60 grams. The resin case is coated in either standard chrome or gold-ion plating, and each watch is fitted with a multi-row stainless steel bracelet. The bracelet has a vertical hairline finish and a self-adjustable clasp designed to lie flat against the wrist, a detail that reinforces the series’ streamlined look.
Core features and market position
Power comes from a CR2016 battery rated for seven years. A blue electroluminescent backlight and basic water resistance round out the feature set. The steel bracelet is a key differentiator here, lifting the A140WE above the resin-strap models that populate much of Casio’s entry-level Vintage range. In both materials and style, the series reaches toward the appearance of the brand’s higher-priced F-series metal watches while keeping the cost firmly in check, a balance that has become a hallmark of Casio’s broader retro-digital strategy. All three models are now available through Casio’s US website and authorized retailers.
