Asus has officially launched the ProArt Display OLED PA279CDV in the United States, several months after its initial unveiling at Computex 2026. Positioned as a color-accurate monitor for creative professionals, the 27-inch display enters the market at $699 and is available through major retailers.
Panel Performance and Build
The PA279CDV is built around Samsung Display's third-generation QD-OLED panel, delivering a 4K resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate. It supports peak brightness of up to 1,000 nits and carries VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification. Asus has also applied a revised anti-scratch film, which the company states is 2.5 times harder than coatings found on earlier QD-OLED panels. While the monitor does not incorporate newer technologies such as Tandem OLED or an RGB subpixel layout, it still offers strong baseline performance for its segment.
Color Accuracy and Calibration
Color reproduction remains the central appeal of this ProArt model. The display covers 100% of the sRGB gamut, 99% of DCI-P3, and 99% of the BT.2020 color spaces. It is Calman Verified and undergoes factory calibration, ensuring accurate output from the moment it is powered on, and includes access to free calibration software. For Mac users, an M Model-P3 color mode is available to closely align the monitor's visuals with the native palette of a MacBook.
macOS Integration and Connectivity
The PA279CDV incorporates deep macOS integration, allowing users to control brightness and volume directly from a connected MacBook's keyboard. A USB-C port with 96W power delivery simplifies single-cable docking, and a built-in KVM switch enables seamless control across two computers. Additional hardware features include proximity and ambient light sensors—the proximity sensor dims the screen when the user steps away, while the ambient light sensor adjusts brightness to match room conditions. An ergonomic stand with a slimmer base and integrated cable management rounds out the physical design.
