Dell’s Alienware brand has introduced a new flagship ultrawide gaming display at Computex 2026, bringing a faster refresh rate and a brighter panel to its curved QD-OLED lineup. The Alienware AW3426DW is a 34-inch monitor with a 21:9 aspect ratio, a 3440 x 1440 resolution, and a maximum refresh rate of 280 Hz. It carries a US retail price of $799.99 directly from Dell, while European buyers will see it listed at €809 and UK customers at £709.

A brighter tandem OLED panel

At the core of the AW3426DW is a 5-stack Penta Tandem QD-OLED panel, which Alienware says improves both luminance and text clarity. The display reaches a peak brightness of 1300 nits, with typical brightness rated at 300 nits, a step up from the preceding AW3425DW. It supports DisplayHDR True Black 500 and maintains the near-infinite contrast ratio expected from self-emissive OLED technology, preserving the vivid and accurate color typical of quantum-dot OLEDs.

Esports-ready speed and adaptive sync

Response time is rated at 0.03 ms, and the 280 Hz refresh rate is paired with both Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro to reduce tearing and stutter. A built-in esports mode shrinks the full 3440 x 1440 image to a 24.5-inch viewable area, catering to competitive players who prefer smaller screens without changing monitors.

Design, coating, and connectivity

The monitor uses a mild 1800R curve for immersion and features an upgraded anti-reflective coating to reduce glare. Subtle RGB lighting accents echo the look of current Alienware laptops and desktops. For connectivity, the AW3426DW includes two HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4 port, and a USB-C port with 15-watt power delivery. However, it lacks KVM functionality, which may be a limitation in multi-device setups.

Text clarity and burn-in mitigation

Alienware addresses the fuzzy text that has affected some QD-OLED competitors by using an RGB-stripe subpixel layout. To manage image retention concerns, the Penta Tandem panel operates with lower power consumption, while a graphite sheet distributes heat evenly across the display. The monitor is backed by a 3-year warranty that covers burn-in, consistent with the protection offered on other Alienware OLED monitors.
